Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a colorful mix of characters, and a thrilling plot including celestial beings, evil spirits, and malevolent powers increasing in power within the city.
Heads-up: Revealing details for the latest installment of this adventure lie ahead.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
The latest chapter concluded with a dramatic pause and introduced the first table of characters who will separate from the main group to embark on their own adventure, separate from the other two tables.
The combat-focused team consists of Teor (portrayed by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
Given a large ensemble, it was evident from the outset that maintaining everyone at a single group would be impossible.
Hence, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Overture, connecting the characters’ stories before branching into three distinct groups: Fighters, Strategists, and Questers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
According to the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for adventurers who are drawn to a typically action-packed battle-oriented gameplay experience where diplomatic options are few and far between.
At first glance, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander might appear unsuited, but the actions of the third episode demonstrate why these five characters are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the party knows exactly where to proceed after a violent opening clash with the enemy group.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose passing initiated the story’s plot—manipulated the enemy for his selfish purposes, entering the hidden lair, assaulting the character, and stealing all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The antagonist then settled his debts and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, above the city, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each member has a specific drive to exit the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the close ally and best friend, seeks vengeance.
- The adventurer is familiar with the northern area and advises that it is a hostile place.
- The strong character and The cleric, having defied his family’s wishes to eliminate the target and instead saved him, have no other options.
- However, their position as important members in House Halovar could help the party enter areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Moreover, The fighter vowed a life debt to Wicander for his rescue and will now go with him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the rulers that control the setting for a range of causes, making remaining behind too risky:
- The rogue and Kattigan are known criminals.
- The strong figure and The cleric betrayed the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This means them few options but to travel to the remote area in search of the traitor.
Future Episodes
From the recent installment’s Cooldown, we learn that the Soldiers table will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the players to round up the Explorers and Strategists parties.
